The gravity of it all

safety humour

Guy 1: "Hmm, say, how much did you say your weight was?"

Guy 2: "Not a lot... although I did have lunch a few minutes ago. Why do you ask?"

Guy 3: "Don't worry, man, I've got you safe by this piece of your shirt."

No ropes here. As for work accident potential, one can't say the same. Scary. Remember: the safety photos warned you beforehand.

Commitment to the work

work humour

In Frankfurt, Germany, a method actor attempted to make his performance as realistic as possible. Thus, and since he was playing the part of a Russian drunk, he chose to down real vodka during his entire stage performance.

Now, apparently, theatre-goers found his performance amazingly realistic, feigning broken movements and slurred speech in perfection. Only when he fell square did people realize that it was all a bit too perfect. Fortunately, this was a minor work accident, although this one had a literal audience. As a preventive measure, his producers have asked him to stick to clear ol' water, in future performances.

Hmm, I've heard of a few people who must be perfecting their "Method Acting" technique during work time... only problem is they're not really actors. Drinks and work don't mix... who knew?

Worker 1: "Hmm, how should we reach that tall spot way up there to transfer this heavy and expensive machinery? Oh, wait, I know... let's do this thing that can lead to a crashing work accident for everyone standing anywhere near or OVER any of these machines."

Worker 2: "We're so clever and wise."

(some people out there are probably thinking: "well darn, what's the big deal, it worked, didn't it?"... seriously, I can hear it right now)

Safety Photos: No work accident allowed

Well, here's an idea! Safety photos of a work accident waiting to happen.

How about if this particular piece of the Web shows you the madness that goes on out there in workplaces around the world, through safety photos regarding any kind work accident? Everyday people choose to work dangerously, in order to make a little more in less time (by breaking every safety rule in the book)... and quite often, they end up doing nothing at all in a lot more time.

It's quite fun, but only because it's really not.

So, on a more (gasp!) serious description: the internet is full of examples of how people toy around with a work accident, ignoring what could (and often does) happen. This blog intends to be a collection of these resources and safety photos, not only to make people laugh, but also to make them cringe and develop an awareness of the importance of work accident prevention.

Let's get at it, then, shall we?
